Street Portrait: Keeper of the Garden
I ran into this cool lady on Houston Street, where she was serving as the boss of a big building’s garden that’s open to the public on Saturdays.
Emily in a Chair in the Snow
This lady was gracious enough to sit in this chair she was lugging around and let me take her picture. She just better email me so she’ll have the best Facebook cover photo of all her friends.
Kings Thai Boxing Team, After Sparring Practice
On Saturday, the team at Kings Thai Boxing in NYC was kind enough to let me shoot their sparring practice. It was my first foray into shooting combat sports and it was a lot of fun and definitely eye-opening.
Before and After
Which picture better describes this man, who asked me if I had an extra roll of film on me? A millisecond capture can be deceiving.
Showers in Napoli
I was walking through a park in Naples, Italy, and three guys showering in a water fountain insisted that I take pictures of them. Here’s my fave of the bunch. When I walked back 10 minutes later, they were washing the hair of Japanese tourists. That was probably my favorite moment in Italy.
A Moment of Clarity
Another old shot from when I first started shooting portraits during an extended existential crisis. I used to put ads on Craig’s List and invite random people over to my house to shoot pictures. Looking back, I had a pretty kooky operation going, but I learned a ton and met some really interesting people.
